Catalogues, reports & manuals — professionally bound from SGD 0.80/copy

Booklet and Catalogue Printing at Happy Print Shop

There is something about a neatly bound booklet that commands more attention than a PDF attachment ever will. Clients flip through it at their own pace, staff keep it on their desk for reference and event attendees carry it home. For over 40 years Happy Print Shop has been producing booklets, catalogues and bound publications for Singapore businesses — working from our studio at International Plaza, a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT.

Which Binding Method Suits Your Project?

We offer three tried-and-tested binding styles, and we are happy to advise which one makes the most sense for your content and budget:

  • Saddle-stitch — sheets are folded and stapled along the spine. Ideal for booklets up to 48 pages. Lightweight, affordable and perfect for newsletters, event guides, look-books and short product catalogues.
  • Perfect binding — pages are collated and glued into a flat, squared spine — just like a paperback book. This gives thicker publications (28 pages and up) a polished, substantial feel. Popular for annual reports, corporate profiles and comprehensive catalogues.
  • Wire-o binding — a double-loop metal spine that lets pages fold back on themselves or lie completely flat. The practical choice for training manuals, recipe collections, planners and any reference document that users need to prop open while they work.

If you are unsure, send us your page count and intended use and we will suggest the most practical option.

Paper Stocks and Cover Finishes

Inner pages are commonly printed on 128 gsm or 157 gsm art paper — smooth, bright and ideal for colour photography. For text-heavy content like manuals and policy documents, uncoated woodfree paper (80–120 gsm) offers easier reading with less glare. Covers typically use 250–310 gsm art card with either matt or gloss lamination to protect against handling wear. Want extra flair? Add spot UV to highlight a logo or title, or foil stamping for a touch of metallic elegance.

From 10 Copies to 10,000

Our digital presses handle short runs starting at just 10 copies — handy for pitch decks, internal reports and limited-run publications where you do not want to commit to a large print volume. When quantities climb above 200, offset printing brings the per-unit cost down substantially while delivering tighter colour consistency across the entire run.

Typical projects we produce include:

  • Retail and wholesale product catalogues
  • Annual reports and investor presentations
  • Employee handbooks and HR policy manuals
  • Event and conference programmes
  • School yearbooks, club newsletters and association magazines

Production Timeline and Delivery

A short-run saddle-stitch booklet can be in your hands within a day or two. Perfect-bound and wire-o jobs typically take two to four working days depending on volume and finishing requirements. If your deadline is tight, let us know upfront — we often accommodate rush schedules, especially for returning clients.

Orders above SGD 80 ship free anywhere in Singapore. Smaller jobs can be collected from our Tanjong Pagar shop during business hours (Mon–Fri, 11:15 AM – 6:15 PM).

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose saddle-stitch over perfect binding?
Saddle-stitch works best for publications up to about 48 pages — it's fast, affordable and results in a slim, easy-to-mail booklet. Once your page count exceeds 28 pages and you want a flat spine with a printable area, perfect binding is the stronger choice.
What's the smallest booklet you can produce?
A saddle-stitch booklet can start at 8 pages (that's 2 printed sheets). Perfect binding needs at least 28 pages to create a workable glued spine.
Do you handle layout and design?
Yes. If you have raw content — text, images, a logo — our designer can build the layout from scratch. We also clean up existing files to ensure proper bleed, margins and colour profiles.
What's the typical production time?
Short-run digital saddle-stitch: 1–2 working days. Perfect binding: 2–4 working days. Offset runs of 500+: around 5–7 working days. Rush service is available — ask us.
